Baby Number Six

Emmy, a registered standard Jersey, calved on Tuesday, the 22nd with a bull calf sired by our Mini Jersey bull.  I named him Zachariah and call him Zach.

I am now milking nine cows.

Oh my goodness, nine milkers?! You must be more busy than usual!!

Congrats on another adorable baby! So far, everyone in my regional Highland association has had (beautiful) bull calves so far, not a heifer in sight! I hope our Sheila delivers a healthy girl...but I hope for that every year and so far she has only thrown giant bulls for us. :)

Wow! That's a lot of milk! Okay, six babies. How many girls and boys?

Congrats! I'm sorry for the bull calf year. I know from my buckling year with only 1 doeling that it's a bummer when you hope for some girls.

That's a lot of milking but imagine you have a machine.

Do you send your milk off to the milk producers in your area or have sharekeepers?

Isn't Emmy one that Damon sold you? Looks like she calved in with a cute little udder. :)
